  • Basic macroeconomic principles discussed on the Business cycle (ie. growth/recession, interest rates, monetary policy, inflation, unemployment)
  • The role & purpose of financial management.
  • Building financial statements on a newly established company (Balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
  • Practice/exercise on building basic elements of financial statements – use of excel spreadsheets.

10:30 – 10:45         BREAK

10:45 – 12:00

  • Profit vs cash. Discover how and why finance is concerned with cash flow versus profits and why that matters for your business. Practice/exercise using excel spreadsheets.
  • Ratio analysis. Financial statements analysis to evaluate financial performance to improve liquidity, profitability, & efficiency.
  • What do we need to look at Financial Statements so to make decisions on the credit policy for a customer and/or whether to collaborate as a stakeholder (supplier, customer,…)

  • Investment Appraisal Tools. Understand the payback period, net present value and internal rate of return methods of project appraisal in decision-making.
  • Break-even analysis

  • Case studies and practical exercises performed by participants – Group work.

Lecturer

Lefteris Papadopoulos, FHEA

Over 25 years of international experience in the banking industry, specializing in wealth management, investments, personal, private, and retail banking, credit management, network and sales management, project management, banc-assurance, business planning and development, and training.
Previous roles at Citibank, Banca Romaneasca, Credit Agricole Bank Romania, Millennium Bank, Metlife-Alico, and Coca-Cola Greece.

  • Served as an expert/evaluator for the European Commission’s EIC Accelerator program, evaluating business proposals.
  • Over 30 years of experience as a lecturer, seminar designer, coordinator, and instructor in the areas of finance, investments, operations management, sales, negotiation, and leadership.
  • Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in the UK.
